Project LAUNCHED!!!!

What a great place to launch this project. The Vintage Caravan Nationals held at Cowra earlier in May saw Scott Rankin and Lex Marinos introduce the project to the 140 Vintage Caravans and their owners.
So tell us what you think of the project and what you are looking forward to. We are up and running now and can’t wait to see it all come together.
If you missed out on your tea towel then send us a message and we’ll get you one somehow.
See you on the road somewhere.
Long Weekend

What a great idea. As a lover and collector of scaled caravans I think my next holiday will be to Canberra to view the real thing. Re tea towel would love one. Please let me know via email if I can get one. Former Burnie resident and knowledge of BigHart.

    Hi David

So sorry to have missed your question last year. We still do not have confirmed numbers for the tours yet, we are building a database of interested vanners and are constructing the tours around those who are interested. The site in Canberra can take up to 50 vans in the first area we will fill, directly along the waterfront, and any more than this will be just over the driveway on some lovely grassed area. So plenty of room for all! If you are interested in joining in then we would love to hear from you. Cheers

    Hi James

I am not intending to be rude, and I apologise if that’s the way it comes across. I actually cant find a query from you in the history, so if there is one that has dropped off the system somehow then could you please let me know as I would very much like to help! Thanks so much

    Thanks heaps

    Mel

  8. David says:

Well be there with bells on :)

Do i have to be a member of this vintage caravans club or something ??

Who do we register with please ??

  9. Mel says:

Hi David, and welcome to the team!

You have done all you need to do to register for the event, and no, you dont have to be a member of anything, all you need is a vintage caravan and a sense of adventure!

I will send you an email with my contact details, can you please let me know where you are based and whether you would be interested in having your van used as a display canvas?

I look forward to meeting you on the road!

    Cheers

    Mel

I have a few starters already, so I hope they have all registered with you.
I look for further instructions/details for the great event.

  13. Coronet says:

Hi Mel, I understand that the facilaties at Canberra are free, I wonder if the stop’s along the way from Melbourne will also be free camping. Would like to do trip from, and back to Melb’. I will be there with or without cost! Where do I meet up at Melbourne?

  14. beth-sometimes says:

Hi Ralph – i’m currently writing you an e-mail to explain this a little better – but in short we are attempting to organise subsidised camping/parking along the way. Will be working out meet-up locations a little closer to the time once numbers and dates are absolutely confirmed. Cheers! Looking forward to having your involvement! Beth
